Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Meat Preparation: Cutting, trimming, deboning, and grinding meat (beef, lamb, pork, poultry) to specification.
Safety & Sanitation: Maintaining a clean, sanitized work area, sharpening knives, and following food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP).
Merchandising & Sales: Arranging meat displays in cabinets, weighing, wrapping, and labeling products.
Customer Service: Advising customers on meat selection and preparing special orders.
Inventory Management: Receiving deliveries, inspecting quality, and monitoring stock levels.
Desired Candidate Profile
Experience: Proven experience in meat cutting, often 3+ years for high-volume roles, or completion of an apprenticeship.
Technical Skills: Proficient in using saws, grinders, and knives.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long hours, lift heavy carcasses, and work in cold environments.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of meat anatomy, cutting techniques, and food safety standards.
