Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Overview:
The Buyer Planner is responsible for managing the procurement and planning of materials to ensure that inventory levels meet production and operational needs. This role plays a key part in maintaining a smooth supply chain, optimizing costs, and ensuring timely availability of materials for manufacturing or business operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute purchasing plans based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and production schedules
- Procure goods and materials locally and internationally, ensuring best pricing, quality, and delivery terms
- Generate and process purchase orders using the company s procurement system; track and monitor order status to ensure timely delivery
- Coordinate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to align material supply with operational requirements
- Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, inventory status, and supplier information
- Analyze supplier performance and market trends; negotiate contracts and establish payment terms with vendors
- Audit and evaluate vendor agreements; ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes and inventory management
- Prepare and present regular reports on purchasing, inventory, and supplier performance to management
- Support customs clearance and logistics processes for imported goods as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain planning role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics)
- Knowledge of inventory management principles, demand forecasting, and supplier relationship management
- Familiarity with Saudi customs clearance, VAT laws, and import/export procedures is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills; fluency in English required
- Saudi nationality required (per Saudization policies).
