Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Accommodation Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of company labor camps, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards. This role manages all camp staff, including camp bosses, cleaners, and maintenance technicians, and ensures a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living environment for employees. Additionally managing government relations, and administrative tasks. Key Accountabilities:
Camp Operations & Facility Management:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of workers' accommodation facilities, including dormitories and labor camps.
Ensure facilities are clean, well-maintained, and meet health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and upgrades as needed, ensuring timely resolution of facility issues.
Manage check-ins, check-outs, and resident records efficiently.
Coordinate additional services such as laundry, catering, and transportation as required.
Liaise with external service providers to ensure quality and timely delivery of services.
Workforce & Staff Supervision:
Recruit, train, and supervise accommodation staff, including camp bosses, housekeeping, and maintenance personnel.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Assign tasks to camp bosses and maintenance technicians, ensuring effective workload distribution.
Assist the Camp Boss in addressing workers’ concerns and resolving accommodation-related issues promptly.
Foster a positive and respectful living environment for all residents.
Implement initiatives to improve resident satisfaction and well-being.
Regulatory Compliance & Government Liaison:
Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and fire regulations in accommodation facilities.
Instruct the HSE team to conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Keep up to date with relevant laws and regulations affecting workers' accommodation.
Represent the company for renewing trade licenses (TL) and labor cards at the respective municipalities when required.
Liaise with MOHRE and other regulatory bodies for labor accommodation compliance.
Act as the company representative in case of any police cases related to employees.
Provide accident reports to MOHRE and HR and liaise with authorities when required.
Arrange for the cancellation of unfit and deceased workers at DHA.
Budgeting & Reporting:
Prepare and propose the accommodation budget, including expenses for maintenance, supplies, and staffing.
Maintain accurate records of occupancy, maintenance activities, and financial transactions.
Prepare reports on accommodation operations, including occupancy rates and resident feedback.
Employee Welfare & Engagement:
Ensure employees have access to safe and well-maintained accommodations.
Address and resolve camp-related employee concerns and grievances.
Organize activities or programs to promote community engagement and well-being among residents.
Collaborate with the HR team to address the needs of workers and laborers.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
7-8 years of experience in managing workers' accommodation, labor camps, or similar facilities.
Proven experience in staff management and working with diverse groups of people.
Experience liaising with government bodies such as MOHRE, DHA, and police authorities.
