Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the daily food service operations, ensuring timely and accurate meal delivery to patients according to dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Supervise and train catering staff, including patient service assistants, in food handling, hygiene, and patient interaction protocols, fostering a positive and efficient team environment.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate patient meal records, including special diets, allergies, and nutritional needs, to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular inspections of food service areas, equipment, and storage facilities to uphold strict standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety compliance.
  • Manage inventory levels and place food and supply orders, working within budgetary constraints while minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
  • Address and resolve patient concerns or complaints related to meal service, showing empathy and professionalism to ensure a positive patient experience.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Holds a minimum of 2 years of experience in a catering or food service role, ideally within a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles, with relevant certifications (e.g., ServSafe) a strong asset.
  • Exhibits proficiency in menu planning, inventory management, and food cost control, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
  • Displays excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and team management abilities, capable of motivating and guiding a team to achieve service excellence.
  • Possesses a strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining accuracy and efficiency under pressure.
