Job Description
WAKA Restaurant in Ras Al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, is seeking a talented and experienced Chef de Cuisine to lead our culinary team. As the Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, menu development, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.Develop and implement innovative menu items that align with WAKA Restaurant's concept and clientele preferencesLead and mentor the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environmentEnsure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanlinessManage food costs, inventory, and kitchen budget to maximize profitabilityCollaborate with the restaurant management team to enhance overall guest experienceStay current with culinary trends and incorporate them into menu offeringsOversee food preparation, plating, and quality control for all dishesParticipate in staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluationsCoordinate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients, with a focus on local produce when possibleAssist in marketing initiatives and special events to promote the restaurantQualificationsCulinary degree or diploma from a recognized culinary institutionMinimum 2 - 3 years of experience in high-end restaurants, with previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership roleProven expertise in international cuisine, particularly Asian fusionAdvanced knowledge of culinary techniques, menu planning, and food cost managementStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesProficiency in kitchen equipment operation and maintenanceUp-to-date Food Safety CertificationThorough understanding of health and safety regulations in the food service industryFamiliarity with UAE food regulations and local ingredientsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situationsCreative problem-solving skills and attention to detailFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as requiredAdditional Informatio
