Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef de Partie specializing in Indian cuisine to join our culinary team in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the Indian cuisine section, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining excellent standards of hygiene and food safety.

  • Manage and coordinate the Indian cuisine section of the kitchen, ensuring efficient and high-quality food production
  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of Indian dishes according to recipes and standards
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff in Indian cooking techniques and recipes
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies for the Indian cuisine section
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, including local regulations
  • Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth overall operations
  • Assist in menu planning and development of new Indian dishes
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to maintain consistency and meet customer expectations
  • Participate in kitchen cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Adapt Indian recipes to accommodate local ingredients and dietary requirements when necessary

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or diploma with a focus on Indian cuisine
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role, specializing in Indian cuisine
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, spices, and regional variations
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in training and mentoring junior staff
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
  • Creativity in menu planning and food presentation
  • Thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP principles
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and maintenance procedures
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to adapt to working in Saudi Arabia
  • Knowledge of local food regulations and dietary customs is preferred
