Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Cold Chain Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing end-to-end cold chain operations, ensuring temperature-sensitive products are stored, handled, and transported in compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The role requires strategic planning, team leadership, and operational excellence to maintain product integrity across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and manage the cold chain operations for storage, transportation, and distribution.
- Ensure all temperature-sensitive products are handled according to established protocols (refrigerated, frozen, or controlled ambient).
- Develop and monitor KPIs for operational efficiency, product quality, and compliance.
- Lead and mentor warehouse and logistics teams, including training on SOPs and cold chain best practices.
- Manage third-party logistics partners, carriers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery and adherence to cold chain standards.
- Monitor equipment performance (refrigeration units, temperature sensors) and coordinate maintenance or calibration.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cold chain efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements, including food safety, pharmaceuticals, and other applicable standards.
- Conduct audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions to prevent product loss or quality breaches.
- Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and quality assurance teams for integrated operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in cold chain, temperature-controlled logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of cold chain operations, storage technologies, and regulatory standards (GDP, HACCP, ISO 22000, etc.).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP software, and cold chain monitoring tools.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple operations, and ensure strict compliance with SOPs.
