Roles & Responsibilities
Novotel & Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis I - Arabic to join our culinary team. As a Commis I, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations while specializing in Arabic cuisine. This position offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring chefs to gain valuable experience in a professional kitchen environment.
- Assist in the preparation of Arabic dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts
- Follow recipes and cooking techniques as directed by senior kitchen staff
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Properly handle and store ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food service
- Participate in menu planning and development of new Arabic dishes
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
- Contribute to a positive and productive kitchen atmosphere
Desired Candidate Profile
High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma or certificate preferred
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of Arabic cuisine
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices preferred
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Knowledge of Arabic ingredients, cooking techniques, and Middle Eastern flavors
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Basic English language skills; fluency in Arabic is a plus
