Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chef in daily kitchen operations and maintain high-quality culinary standards.
  • Prepare ingredients and cook dishes following the established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to provide seamless dining experiences for our guests.
  • Perform basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
  • Assist in the proper storage and labeling of food items to ensure freshness and compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Learn and execute proper cooking techniques for various dishes on the menu.
  • Assist in inventory management by reporting low stock levels and participating in regular stock counts.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment in clean and operational condition, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Participate in menu development by suggesting ideas and assisting with recipe testing.
  • Ensure timely preparation of mise en place for assigned station or recipes.
  • Adapt to fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously during peak service hours.
  • Continuously improve culinary skills through on-the-job training and by seeking guidance from senior kitchen staff.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role in a five-star hotel.
  • Strong culinary skills, knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniques, and attention to detail in food presentation.
  • Food Safety Certification required.
  • Proficiency in knife skills and operation of standard kitchen equipment.
  • Basic understanding of food cost control and inventory management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Passion for culinary arts and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in food preparation.
