Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analysis of tender documents, including drawings, specifications, and BOQs, to identify project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for various construction projects, considering material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, utilizing relevant software, to determine the precise quantities of materials needed for the project.
  • Evaluate and compare subcontractor quotes, ensuring alignment with project specifications and identifying potential risks or cost savings.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of material and labor costs, keeping abreast of market trends and price fluctuations.
  • Prepare and present clear and concise bid proposals to clients, highlighting key project features and competitive advantages.
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify potential value engineering opportunities and optimize project costs.
  • Assess project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential cost overruns or delays.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements and site conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all estimation activities, including cost data, bid documents, and communication with stakeholders.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction estimation, preferably in pre-contract roles.
  • Strong background in the building construction industry.
  • Proficiency in estimation software such as Candy, PlanSwift, QTO, or similar tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil EngineeringBachelor’s degree in civil engineering NICMAR certification and Gulf experience will be considered an advantage.
