Roles & Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities
- Manage the technical and operational performance of the fleet
- Lead and support the technical team, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient vessel operations
- Oversee maintenance planning, dry dockings, and vessel inspections
- Keep control of budgets and technical spend
- Get involved in S&P work - inspections, vetting, and deliveries
- Ensure vessels meet all class, flag, and safety requirements
- Work closely with senior management on strategic fleet planning and performance
- Represent the company at inspections, meetings, and site visits around the world
Your Background
- Master Mariner (preferred) or Chief Engineer with solid sea and shore experience
- Strong background in ship management - ideally with a smaller or mid-sized ship owner
- Broad exposure across technical, crewing, and commercial operations
- Experience managing teams and leading technical departments
- Familiar with S&P inspections and new vessel takeovers
- Exposure to both tanker and dry bulk fleets would be a big plus
- Experience in or familiarity with African operations would be useful
