Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage the daily care of the ungulate collection, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare.
• Develop and implement husbandry protocols, including feeding, enrichment, and preventative health care programs.
• Oversee and participate in the training and development of keeper staff.
• Monitor and maintain accurate records of animal health, behavior, and breeding.
• Collaborate with veterinary staff on animal health issues and treatments.
• Manage and maintain ungulate habitats, ensuring they are clean, safe, and stimulating.
• Assist with the acquisition and introduction of new animals.
• Participate in conservation and research projects related to ungulates.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of ungulate biology, behavior, and husbandry.
• Proven experience in animal care and management, with a focus on ungulates.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of animal training techniques.
• Experience with record keeping and data analysis.
• Ability to handle animals safely and confidently.
• Knowledge of relevant animal welfare regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in zoology, animal science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a zoo or wildlife setting.
• Experience in supervising and managing a team of keepers.
