Position Title: Head of NVOCC
Department: Shipping & Logistics
Reporting To: Managing Director / CEO

Role Overview

The Head of NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) will be responsible for building, managing, and driving the company’s NVOCC business. This includes developing agency networks, expanding market share, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining strong carrier/agent relations, and achieving profitability targets. The role requires a strong commercial mindset, deep industry knowledge, and proven leadership in the shipping & freight forwarding sector.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Business Development

• Develop and execute the company’s NVOCC business strategy across key trade lanes.
• Build and manage overseas agent networks and principal relationships.
• Identify new opportunities, trade lanes, and service routes to expand the business.
• Negotiate and secure competitive freight rates with shipping lines and partners.
• Ensure growth in market share and profitability in line with company goals.

Commercial & Sales

• Lead the NVOCC sales team to achieve revenue and volume targets.
• Manage key customer accounts and develop long-term partnerships.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.
• Represent the company in industry events, exhibitions, and networking platforms.

Operations & Service Delivery

• Oversee day-to-day NVOCC operations including bookings, documentation, and container control.
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, trade policies, and company standards.
• Monitor container movements, turnaround times, and optimize equipment utilization.
• Establish strong SOPs for service efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Leadership & Management

• Build, train, and mentor a high-performing NVOCC team.
• Drive collaboration between sales, operations, and finance departments.
• Manage budgets, P&L, and financial reporting for the NVOCC division.
• Maintain a performance-driven culture with clear KPIs.
