The Role

We are looking for a Head of Operational Risk who will be a senior leader in the First Line of Defence reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, responsible for establishing, leading, and managing the operational risk function for myZoi. This role will include oversight of a team of first line Operational Risk Managers and will be critical in implementing and embedding the Operational Risk Framework, ensuring robust governance, supporting all functions on risk management and fostering a strong risk culture across the organization.

What You’ll Do:

Leadership & Strategy

Lead and manage a team of first line Operational Risk Managers, providing strategic direction, oversight, coaching, and performance management.

Act as the primary First Line liaison for operational risk across all functions and with the Second Line.

Drive the implementation of the Operational Risk Framework in alignment with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF).

Champion a culture of risk awareness, transparency, and proactive risk management.

Represent First line ops risk at Governance Forums including Executive Risk Committee

Risk & Control Oversight

Own the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of operational risks across all business and functional areas.

Responsible for ensuring risk registers, obligation registers, and control libraries are accurate, updated, and reflective of the current risk landscape.

Oversee the execution and review of RCSA (Risk and Control Self-Assessments), control testing (Control Assessment Standards), and Key Control Indicators (KCIs) within the timelines

Drive continuous improvement in risk and control practices, focusing on automation, root cause analysis, and lessons learned.

· Coordinate evaluations of product risks, processes, outsourcing, significant events, and security risks

· Support control assessments and recommend actions; analyze control environment data; prepare operational risk reports.

· Drive the Residual Risk Assessment process across all business and functional areas.

· Responsible for owning the changes in control design and recommend changes to the second line.

· Responsible for timely escalation of breaches to the relevant stakeholders and governance forums.

· Provide guidance on operational risk tools and systems; own and support policy effectiveness reviews and associated exercises across first line functions.

Business Enablement

As first line operational risk be part of the functions and support them in day-to-day risk management

Provide operational risk insight and challenge during business strategy, product development, and major project reviews.

Collaborate with functions to identify and mitigate risks in new products, technologies (including AI), and market expansions.

Support proactive risk decisions through meaningful and timely MI reporting to senior management and risk committees.

What You’ll Need:

Ability to collaborate with all levels of management.

Able to manage conflicting priorities and situation

In-depth knowledge on financial service products including store value facility, retail payment services and consumer protection

Knowledge on technology and ICS standards including AI used for building financial services.

Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications, i.e. standards required for role

Licenses and Certifications/accreditations will be an added advantage

10 to 12+ years of experience in related industries
