HEALTH AND SAFETY SPECIALIST

As a Health and Safety Specialist at KILONEWTONS, you will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving safety management systems across all projects. You ll work closely with teams to identify potential hazards, conduct audits, and ensure safe practices are upheld in every phase of operation.

Your expertise will help foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and safety audits.
• Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
• Provide HSE training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions to staff and contractors.
• Maintain up-to-date safety records and prepare regular performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with local, international, and company safety regulations (OSHA, ISO 45001, NEBOSH).
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers to promote a safe working environment.
• Develop emergency response plans and participate in safety drills.
• Continuously improve workplace health and safety programs and culture.

Required Skills & Software Proficiency

• In-depth knowledge of HSE standards, risk management, and incident investigation.
• Proficiency in software tools such as:
  
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Incident Management Software (e.g., Intelex, Enablon, or Synergi Life)
  • Safety Data Management Systems (SDMS)
• Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and OSHA regulations.
• Excellent understanding of construction and industrial safety practices.
• Strong communication, leadership, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to train and motivate personnel at all levels on safety protocols.
