Job Description
Institutional Trading Executive at First Abu Dhabi Bank in Abu Dhabi is responsible for executing equity, fixed income, and other mandated trades on behalf of domestic and international institutional clients. The role focuses on delivering best execution, service excellence, and timely reporting while strictly adhering to internal policies, exchange rules, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Execution and Client Service
- Execute buy and sell orders for institutional clients in line with client instructions, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with sales traders to ensure best execution quality and timely trade reporting
- Source liquidity from brokers and counterparties and maintain a database of block securities
- Execute trades manually on market systems during OMS downtime after obtaining required approvals
- Respond promptly to client requests through authorized communication channels
- Validate customer information and transaction details prior to order execution
- Prepare and manage trade-related documentation requiring client authorization
- Act as first-level escalation point for client trade disputes and inform senior sales traders accordingly
Relationship Management and Market Engagement
- Maintain regular communication with assigned institutional clients to discuss markets, ideas, and opportunities
- Arrange and participate in client meetings independently or jointly with sales teams
- Support business development efforts by promoting the desk s execution capabilities and market intelligence
Operational Excellence and Reporting
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of all trading activities
- Manage order distribution within the execution team
- Prepare and submit daily and weekly call and activity reports to the Head of Desk
- Update client profiles and ensure data accuracy
- Operate within departmental budgets and contribute toward execution and service targets
Compliance, Risk, and Governance
- Ensure strict adherence to legal, compliance, and risk management policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, ethical trading, and professional conduct
- Support regulatory and internal training requirements as mandated
Learning and Development
- Continuously enhance brokerage capabilities across regional and international markets
- Maintain up-to-date product and market knowledge
- Participate in required training programs and professional development initiatives
Desired Candidate Profile
Ideal Profile
- Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related discipline
- Minimum 4 years of experience in relationship management, with at least 3 years in a brokerage or broker-dealer environment
- Strong understanding of UAE capital markets and ESCA regulations
- Proven relationship management, sales, and business development skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- High attention to detail with the ability to perform under pressure
