Roles & Responsibilities

Purpose of the Role

The IT Lab Coordinator at GBS Dubai Campus will be responsible for the effective operation, maintenance, and compliance of IT and ACCA labs. This role ensures smooth academic delivery, technical readiness, and audit compliance in alignment with Pearson, KHDA, and ACCA CBE requirements. The coordinator supports faculty, students, and institutional audits, while also maintaining secure and industry-relevant lab environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all IT lab equipment, software licenses, and network configurations.

  • Prepare labs for class sessions, assessments, and workshops in coordination with faculty.

  • Ensure cybersecurity, data privacy, and safe usage protocols across all lab systems.

  • Monitor and maintain ACCA CBE compliance for approved examination centers.

  • Support students and faculty with technical troubleshooting during sessions and assessments.

  • Maintain accurate asset inventory, manage procurement requests, and coordinate with vendors for maintenance and upgrades.

  • Assist with setup and management of AI, Cybersecurity, IoT, and Cloud Computing labs to support academic and micro-credential delivery.

  • Ensure all labs meet compliance standards for Pearson, KHDA, and ACCA audits, maintaining readiness for inspections.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime and misuse.

  • Collaborate with IT, QA, and Academic teams to enhance the digital learning environment and ensure system functionality during exams and workshops.


Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum of 3–8 years of relevant experience in IT lab coordination, system administration, or educational technology support.

  • Experience with ACCA CBE compliance or Pearson-approved lab management preferred.

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity protocols, system imaging, and educational software setup.

  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and technical support skills.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in managing hardware, networking, and software installations.

  • Understanding of AI, Cybersecurity, IoT, and related computing applications.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to support faculty and students.

  • Commitment to institutional compliance, data security, and academic integrity.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently under minimal supervision.

Working Conditions

This is an on-campus, full-time role at GBS Dubai Campus. The position requires availability during class hours, exams, workshops, and audits. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during examination or audit periods.
