Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, review, and approve lifting studies, method statements, and rigging plans for routine and critical lifts
Supervise and monitor lifting and rigging operations at site to ensure safe execution
Ensure full compliance with Qatar Energy, RLIC, project specifications, and international standards
Coordinate with construction, HSE, engineering, and operations teams during lifting activities
Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and toolbox talks related to lifting operations
Verify crane selection, load calculations, lifting accessories, and rigging configurations
Review and ensure validity of lifting equipment certifications and third-party inspection reports
Provide technical support for brownfield project lifting activities
Investigate lifting-related incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions
Maintain proper documentation, reports, and records for all lifting operations
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (mandatory)
Minimum 10 years of experience in lifting and rigging engineering within Oil & Gas projects
Strong working knowledge of Qatar Energy and RLIC standards
Proven experience handling critical and heavy lifts in brownfield environments
Proficient in AutoCAD and lifting analysis / engineering software
Solid understanding of cranes, rigging equipment, load handling, and safety practices
Excellent coordination and communication skills with site and project teams
Safety-driven mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
Valid Qatar ID (QID) required
Willingness to work on project / site-based locations in Qatar
