Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all government regulations, environmental standards, and plant safety procedures.
Promote and enforce adherence to all HSE policies, procedures, company standards, and quality/environmental requirements.
Demonstrate strong HSEQ leadership, actively encouraging a safety-first culture across teams.
Coordinate with Operations and HSE teams to deliver planned and unplanned maintenance activities with a “one team” approach.
Manages the activities of the plant’s maintenance department through direct supervision of maintenance team members, ensuring the effective execution of their job responsibilities
Responsible to maintain plant availability as per contractual requirements
Directs the coordination of the facility maintenance department with operations and purchasing personnel in defining, analyzing, solving and repairing equipment and machinery
Provides technical expertise and directs coordination of departments and support personnel in upgrading of equipment and development of systems and design changes for the enhancement of overall plant reliability, efficiency and economy
Oversees the planning and assures coordination of all participating plant personnel and subcontractors, scheduled and unscheduled plant outages
Participates in budget development manages and controls maintenance expenditures, maintaining an active cost reduction program directed toward improved plant profitability
Lead Root Cause Investigations (RCI) and support FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) activities.
Participate in HSE inspections, audits, risk assessments, and emergency response activities
Manage staffing and training within the maintenance team, ensuring roles are filled with qualified personnel, performance is regularly reviewed, and development plans are in place.
Ensure adequate resources are available to maintain a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational/Professional Qualifications/Training Certifications • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) degree, or equivalent experience • HSE accredited training qualifications
Job Experience & Software Competencies
Total working experience of 10-15 years with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the maintenance of EfW or similar equipment and systems background (Experience working in UAE preferred)
Specific expertise in resource recovery material handling and waste processing is preferred
Hands-on experience in developing and implementing maintenance management systems (including but not limited to CMMS, predictive and preventive maintenance etc.)
Proficient or familiar with systems used for asset management, maintenance planning, and operational reporting for e.g. as below:
- CMMS / Maintenance Management: IBM Maximo, Infor EAM, Fiix, UpKeep
- ERP Systems: SAP (PM, MM modules), Oracle NetSuite, IFS, Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Project & Scheduling Tools: Primavera P6, MS Project
- Operations Monitoring & Analytics: SCADA/DCS dashboards, EMS (Environmental Monitoring Systems)
- Procurement & Inventory Tools: SAP MM, Oracle Procurement Cloud, SharePoint/Teams for spare parts and material tracking
- Productivity & Reporting: Advanced Excel, Power BI, Word, PowerPoint

Decision-making: Having the ability to make sound decisions based on relevant, factual information taking into consideration the organization and its resources and strong mechanical system skills that can rationally, solve problems systematically, and make the right decisions quickly
Adaptability: Demonstrate reliability, high ability to work under pressure, social competency, ability to manage conflict, assertiveness and service oriented. Ability to manage any changes such as technical, organizational, social and cultural.
Communication: Ability to communicate clearly through sharing ideas, information, policy and procedures and demonstrate the ability to write clear reports, business correspondence and manual procedures.
Excellent communication (read, write and verbal) skills in English Language
