Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking an Excise Tax Manager to join our Tax Advisory practice. The role involves managing client engagements related to UAE Excise Tax compliance, advisory, audits, and process improvement. The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge of UAE Excise Tax Law and hands-on experience working with FTA regulations, preferably within a consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end Excise Tax compliance for clients, including registration, deregistration, returns, stock movement declarations, and product classifications.
- Review clients’ excise tax processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements aligned with UAE tax laws.
- Provide technical advisory to clients on excise tax applicability, Designated Zones, import/export transactions, and supply chain structures.
- Conduct excise tax impact assessments, product taxability reviews, and SKU classification checks.
- Assist clients with FTA audits, clarifications, voluntary disclosures, reconsideration requests, and documentation.
- Coordinate with customs, warehouses, and designated zones to ensure proper excise tax treatment.
- Prepare training materials and deliver sessions to clients on excise tax regulations and updates.
- Support business development by contributing to proposals, client pitches, and thought leadership articles.
- Work closely with VAT, Customs, and Corporate Tax teams to provide integrated tax solutions.
Desired Candidate Profile
- CA / ACCA / CPA or other recognized accounting/tax qualification preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of UAE Consulting experience in UAE Excise Tax; consulting or professional services firm experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of UAE Excise Tax Law, FTA guidelines, Designated Zones, and customs interfaces.
- Experience with ERP systems and FTA portal operations.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment.
