Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Material Engineer to oversee the selection, testing, and implementation of materials used in our projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of materials in accordance with project requirements.
Job Responsibility
- Support the materials team in the preparation of material sample tags.
- Coordinate the preparation and collection of approved materials for the handover, ensuring 3 sets are provided per transmittal.
- Assist the materials team in preparing the markup for finishes in accordance with the IFC.
- Provide administrative support, such as scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and managing project documentation.
- Maintain organized records of design documents, drawings, and project files.
- Facilitate communication between the design team and other departments.
- Review project documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of related material documentation and reports.
- Respond to inquiries and provide information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelors degree in related field.
- Strong knowledge of material properties, testing methods, and selection criteria.
- Experience in material testing, analysis, and quality control.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with various teams and suppliers.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of materials management and inventory control processes
- Proficiency in using material tracking software and inventory management systems
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports on material usage and inventory levels
- Good communication skills for interacting with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams
- Problem-solving abilities to address any issues related to material procurement or shortages
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to handling materials
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
