Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Title: MEP Estimator
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Review tender documents, specifications, drawings, BOQs, and project requirements for MEP works.
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for:
o HVAC systems
o Electrical systems
o Plumbing and drainage systems
o Fire fighting systems
o Fire alarm systems
o ELV systems
o Ventilation systems
Analyze material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and indirect costs for accurate project pricing.
Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare detailed commercial and technical tender submissions within project deadlines.
Coordinate with:
o Project managers
o Engineers
o Procurement department
o Suppliers and subcontractors
o Clients and consultants
Review drawings and identify discrepancies, missing information, and coordination issues during tender stage.
Assist in value engineering and cost-saving proposals.
Prepare cost comparisons and technical clarifications for materials and equipment.
Attend site visits, pre-tender meetings, and technical discussions when required.
Prepare variation cost estimates and revised pricing during project execution.
Maintain updated records of:
o Material costs
o Supplier pricing
o Labor rates
o Historical project data
Ensure estimates comply with:
o Project specifications
o Client requirements
o Local authority regulations
o Company procedures
Support management with budgeting, forecasting, and project cost analysis.
Ensure confidentiality of all commercial and tender information.
Desired Candidate Profile
Skills & Requirements
Strong knowledge of:
o HVAC systems
o Electrical systems
o Plumbing systems
o Fire fighting and fire alarm systems
o MEP construction methods and materials
Proficient in:
o MS Excel
o AutoCAD
o Estimation software (preferred)
Ability to read and interpret:
o MEP drawings
o Architectural drawings
o Structural drawings
o Specifications and BOQs
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Good negotiation and communication abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadlines.
Knowledge of UAE market pricing and authority requirements is preferred.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
or related field.
Minimum 4 years of experience in MEP estimation.
Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, and fit-out projects is
preferred.
