Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a wide variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and specialty items using both traditional and innovative techniques.
  • Ensure all ingredients meet quality and safety standards, with special attention to freshness, sourcing, and proper handling of dairy (e.g., milk) and other key components.
  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety standards and hygiene protocols in all aspects of preparation, storage, and service.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting recipe enhancements, cost-saving measures, and operational efficiencies.
  • Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and minimizing waste.
  • Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on techniques, safety, and presentation.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and Front-of-House team to align pastry offerings with menu themes and guest preferences.
  • Design and execute visually appealing dessert plating and presentation that enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times, including regular cleaning and equipment maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to daily operational demands and support special events, banquets, and seasonal menu launches.

Desired Candidate Profile

1 3 years of proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role within a high-volume hospitality or restaurant environment.

Strong knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and compliance with local health regulations.

Proficiency in preparing a wide range of pastries, cakes, breads, confections, and dessert items, including international and regional specialties.

Demonstrated ability to innovate and create unique, marketable dessert concepts that align with current culinary trends.

Solid understanding of basic baking principles, ingredient functionality, and recipe scaling.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork and collaboration across departments.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment with minimal supervision.

Valid work permit and eligibility to work in the UAE (Filipino or Nepalese nationality preferred).

Willingness to join immediately and commit to a full-time role in Al Ain.
