Duties and Responsibilities
• Support Physical Education lessons as a PE assistant.
• Build positive, respectful, and effective relationships.
• Inspire students with a love of learning and promote growth mindset and learner agency.
• Communicate high expectations for all students, encouraging them to be motivated and deeply engaged in their learning.
• Help students practice skills, provide feedback on their progress, and help them reflect on their learning.
• Liaise with the PE Team on student progress and attainment where required.
• Offer swimming coaching/interventions afterschool to support the extra-curricular program.
• Assess the students' swimming ability and record as directed by the PE teacher/Head of PE
• Hold and maintain the required swim coaching qualifications as directed by the Head of PE
• Supervise the security and safety of pool users in all areas of the facility and carry out rescues as required.
• Maintain constant surveillance of pool users and act immediately and appropriately in the event of an
emergency.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Assist the Head of PE in the preparation of activities for swimming and PE lessons in a professional manner
to ensure a high quality of service is provided to pool users and visitors. This includes the assembly and
dismantling of equipment and minor repairs when required.
• Comply with the Pool Safe Operating procedures at all times: maintain the facility to a high standards of
cleanliness and hygiene; ensure that the pool chemical levels, temperature etc. are regularly checked and
meet expectations with regard to health and safety.
• Perform inspection of pool safety equipment including rescue aids and alarms in accordance with the
operating procedures.
• Check the safety of equipment in areas of responsibility and report and damage or malfunction of
equipment, plant or building fabric to the MSO immediately after discovery.
• Comply with the Emergency Action Plan for the Academy and assist with any such incidents in the
appropriate manner.
Prepare and maintain activity records as appropriate.
• Present with professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintain a high standard of customer service.

Position Requirements: (please only apply if you meet the below criteria)
Bachelor’s degree (all subject areas considered)
Relevant Swimming Teaching Qualification and current lifeguard certificate.
Relevant experience working in an Early Childhood/Elementary School setting
Strong English language proficiency
