Roles & Responsibilities
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Fitness Department in Dubai, the Personal Trainer is responsible for providing personal assistance to any individual booking private training sessions, to support with all duties pertaining to the reception and the overall cleanliness, hygiene and order of the Fitness Centre. Personal Trainer reports to Fitness & Wellness Manager.
As a Personal Trainer, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Delivers personal training sessions, group classes, and participates in Mandarin Oriental in-house fitness programs, while supporting hotel events and marketing initiatives.
- Ensures smooth operations of the Fitness Centre, including maintaining cleanliness, reporting faulty equipment, restocking supplies, and upholding health and safety standards.
- Provides exceptional guest service by greeting guests warmly, answering wellness-related inquiries, offering refreshments, and supporting a seamless guest journey.
- Actively participates in team meetings, daily briefings, and ongoing training sessions, while adhering to grooming and conduct standards set by Mandarin Oriental.
- Assists in all areas of the department as needed, showing adaptability, accountability, and a positive, professional work ethic.
- Conducts safe and effective personal training sessions based on scientific principles, maintains up-to-date REPs UAE fitness registration, and tailors programs to individual guest goals and conditions.
Desired Candidate Profile
Holds a High School qualification (preferred) and a degree or diploma in Fitness, Sports, or Personal Training; valid Category A REP s UAE license is required.
- Has at least 1 year of experience in a commercial fitness environment or professional sports coaching, preferably within a 5-star hotel setting.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of fitness principles, safety standards, and gym equipment, with the ability to lead group classes and fitness events.
- Committed to continuous development by maintaining CPD requirements and staying current with fitness trends and practices.
- Possesses strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals and large groups.
- Proficient in basic computer applications and has excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional language skills, especially Arabic, are preferred.
