Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of quality control technicians, ensuring their training and development to maintain a high level of competence.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures, guidelines, and standards to ensure consistent product quality and safety.
- Conduct routine inspections and tests on incoming raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with company specifications and industry standards.
- Monitor and manage the quality control process, including sampling, testing, and record-keeping, to identify and address any deviations or non-conformances promptly.
- Maintain and calibrate quality control equipment and ensure that they are in good working order.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production, and Supply chain, to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate customer complaints and feedback related to product quality, coordinating with relevant departments to address concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee and conduct shelf-life studies and stability tests to determine product shelf-life and storage Condition.
- Manage documentation and record-keeping related to quality control, including batch records, test results, and quality assurance reports.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, HACCP, GMP, ISO 22,000 and FSSC 22,0000 other relevant industry standards, and lead internal and external audits.
- Assist in the development and improvement of product specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to quality control.
- Collaborate with the Group Quality Manager and other stakeholders to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and safety.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging quality control technologies, providing recommendations for their adoption as appropriate.
- Ensure team adherence to food safety and quality standards.
- Conduct regular food safety briefings and reinforce a strong food safety culture.
- Monitor compliance with hygiene and operational procedures.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
- A master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a quality control role within the food manufacturing industry, with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Proficient in quality control techniques, analytical instruments, and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP and GMP, and experience in managing compliance with these standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team of quality control officers.
- Experience with quality control software and documentation systems is a plus.
