Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Department : ENGINEERING : FIT OUT

Purpose & Scope
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs related to construction
projects. This includes ensuring projects are completed within budget, providing
accurate cost estimates, managing contracts and variation works, and controlling
financial risks while maintaining quality and compliance with legal and contractual
requirements.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates, variation orders, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQs).
Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to assess project costs.
Monitor project costs and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare the subcontractor scope of work for procurement purposes
Prepare tender documents for subcontractors and assist in tender evaluation and contractor selection.
Analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations and negotiate rates.
Review and issue subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
Administer construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JCT).
Evaluate variations, claims, and extensions of time and Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Prepare interim valuations and payment certificates.
Assess subcontractor payment applications and supplier invoices.
Prepare final accounts and close-out documentation for subcontractors.
Track and control project expenditure against approved budgets.
Identify cost risks and value engineering opportunities.
Prepare regular cost reports for management and clients.
Identify financial and contractual risks and propose mitigation measures.
Support dispute resolution and claims management when required.
As per operational requirement Employee, may be deployed in any of the Emirates and may be assigned to different department if and when required.


Work Relations : Reporting to : Head of Engineering

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field

Required 2-8 years experience in construction or related field


Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.

Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Excel.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Strong analytical and numerical skills.

Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.

High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
