Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The Sales Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating sales training programs that enhance the skills, product knowledge, and performance of the sales team. The role ensures that sales employees are equipped with the tools, techniques, and confidence to meet and exceed company sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Training & Development
  • Design and deliver effective sales training programs (classroom, online, and on-the-job).
  • Develop training materials, manuals, scripts, and role-play exercises.
  • Conduct onboarding training for new sales hires.
  • Train the team on product knowledge, sales processes, negotiation, and closing techniques.
  1. Performance Coaching
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and feedback to sales staff.
  • Assess sales representatives’ strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Develop individualized learning and development plans.
  1. Sales Enablement
  • Train sales teams on CRM systems, digital tools, and reporting practices.
  • Align training content with the company’s sales strategies, KPIs, and objectives.
  • Introduce best practices for lead generation, customer engagement, and pipeline management.
  1. Evaluation & Reporting
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, role plays, and sales performance metrics.
  • Report training outcomes and improvements in sales performance to management.
  • Continuously update training content based on industry trends, competitor practices, and company updates.
  1. Collaboration
  • Work closely with Sales Managers, HR, and Marketing to align training with business needs.
  • Support management in identifying training gaps through performance reviews and sales data.
  • Participate in sales meetings and provide input on strategy execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Trainer, Sales Coach, or Senior Sales Executive.
  • Strong knowledge of sales techniques, methodologies, and KPIs.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire sales professionals.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
