Job Description

The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in the financial health and integrity of an organization. This role requires a seasoned professional who can manage and oversee the accounting operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing financial reports, assessing budgets, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You will also play a crucial role in strategic planning, providing insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analyses. This position demands exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and a high degree of organizational ability to meet tight deadlines. The Senior Accountant will collaborate across various departments to enhance transparency and accountability in financial reporting, supporting long-term business objectives and ensuring the overall fiscal efficiency of the organization.


Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP in all financial transactions and reporting processes.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff to enhance team performance and development.
  • Review and analyze departmental budgets and develop financial forecasts and budget plans.
  • Handle regulatory reporting requirements and tax filings to maintain compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions and statements.
  • Collaborate with management to support financial planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances from budgetary targets.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and financial data.
  • Prepare documentation and support for audits, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the formulation of financial policies and procedures, enhancing departmental efficiency.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting roles.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred for this role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle is essential.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and management practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments.
