Roles & Responsibilities

We re currently looking for a (Senior) Associate to join our Venture Growth team. The position is 100% remote and will focus on expanding and accelerating Tether Venture s investment portfolio, ranging from seed and early stage investments to late stage, growth and strategic majorities. The Venture Growth team is currently a five person team that works closely with multiple other teams within Tether to assess investment opportunities, unlock synergies and create strategic value. This role will also work with external C-level executives and board representatives on strategic planning, oversight and execution of key initiatives, monitoring, business planning/budgeting and KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct screening and assessment of new investment opportunities in collaboration with the broader investment team, including market sizing, competitive analyses, and business model validation.
  • Participate in due diligence for new investments, with a focus on operational and strategic fit, scalability, and synergy potential.
  • Develop investment memos and strategic recommendations for internal and investor review, clearly articulating expected ROI and risks.

Within the Portfolio:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to assess and enhance their growth potential, operational effectiveness, and performance.
  • Partner with strategic leaders across business lines to set realistic key performance indicators (KPIs), design reporting templates, and engage in ongoing performance dialogue.
  • Map out competitive and adjacent industry landscapes, co-develop strategic growth plans, and lead their execution.
  • Engaging with management teams on value-creation initiatives such as go-to-market strategy, competitive threat assessments, cost synergy realization, and capital efficiency projects (including working capital optimization and procurement reviews).
  • Lead planning and forecasting processes to support company growth and regional expansion objectives. Build multi-year business models to guide investments across capex, opex, M&A, and human capital.
  • Support innovation efforts aimed at expanding revenue streams and improving profitability across the platform.
  • Contribute to inorganic growth initiatives by identifying, evaluating, and executing acquisition and partnership opportunities.
  • Ensure cross-portfolio collaboration by promoting communication and alignment on shared initiatives, resources, and best practices.
  • Identify and coordinate human capital needs to support growth initiatives, leveraging internal teams for revenue generation and operational efficiency.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture and operational excellence across the organization.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience required. Master of Business Administration (or commensurate experience) preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience required. Consulting, investment banking and/or PE experience preferred (e.g., 2-3 yrs consulting + 2-3 yrs in industry).
  • 2+ years experience with the payments industry is preferred
  • Deep knowledge of resource planning, demand planning, budgeting, business planning, corporate strategy required. Prior exposure to the following areas is also valued:
    • Coordination of cross-functional teams;
    • Direct reporting or direct interaction with C-suite executives;
    • Strategic advisory projects for multinational groups including acquisitions, postmerger integrations, operational improvement plans;
    • Development of business plans, budgets, operating models, due diligence reports,investor reports and management presentations;
    • Acquisition due diligence (commercial, financial, legal, tax, technology, organizational, etc.) and/ or post-acquisition support;
    • Exposure to communications, sales, business line or product management leadership, benchmarking, and forecasting functions.
  • Strong business sense, market research, analytical, and presentation skills required. Being reliable and organized: proven ability to work proactively to deliver high-quality end-results and outputs with attention to details even under pressure.
  • Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to interact with all associates and key stakeholders, with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy. Able to present a proprietary standpoint / proposition and lead with influence.
  • Demonstrated ability to abide to commitments and protect confidential information.
  • Ability to develop and execute short and long-term strategic plans; ability to develop and maintain external relations with a wide range of stakeholders and partners.
  • Ability to work day-to-day with management teams across different levels of seniority.
  • Limited travel may be required.
