The Role
You will be leading and coding, working in a squad with a mission to build and deliver a world-class application to our global customer base. You will be challenged to deliver software that is highly functional yet simple, feature rich yet low latency and overall best of breed, using java and cloud native technologies. You will experiment with Event Driven services, REST and GraphQL endpoints, high resiliency, low latency and high scalability to challenge and improve our application and delivery across diverse regional requirements. You will be fully agile and fully empowered. You will be an innovator and a mentor. You will work with a hybrid local and overseas team with best-in-class tools and processes.
Responsibilities
· Build, deliver and support first-class Java Services, Micro services and Functions
· Work hand-in-hand with the Lead Architect to engineer a cloud native financial application
· Design for fault tolerance and resilience, speed and security
· Use data-driven insights and observability to foster a culture of continuous improvement
· Balance an Agile fast-paced delivery within a highly regulated industry
· Ensure security and compliance best practice
· Work on continuously improving the application delivery processes
· Be an awesome member of the team, have fun and enjoy social events
About You
· You are a skilled, creative and inquisitive java engineer with a passion for quality and delivery
· You have hands on experience of Java and cloud native (primarily AWS) development using Javalin, Spring Boot, Cloud Native and other libraries and technologies
· You have hands on experience with REST API design, services architecture
· You have an appreciation of Event driven architecture
· You have experience working with Databases, Data Lakes, Data Ingestion and Analysis tools
· You have experience with Docker, Kubernetes
· You have skill across build tools, optimisation techniques and modern frameworks
· You have strong communication skills, curiosity. You are a quick and eager learner.
· You enjoy a creative fast paced agile world
· You enjoy mentoring and teaching other developers to create a world-class cohesive team
