Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • ArcGIS Enterprise Administration: Administer and maintain ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Datastore, ensuring high availability, DR implementation, security, and performance of GIS services.
  • GIS Quality Deployments: Oversee the deployment of GIS solutions, ensuring quality standards are met and that solutions are deployed efficiently and effectively.
  • Change Management & Production Deployment: Manage change control processes for GIS environments, ensuring that updates and deployments are thoroughly tested before production rollout. Handle production deployment of GIS systems, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
  • System Troubleshooting and Support: Provide user support for ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Desktop, Field Maps, and other GIS systems, addressing technical issues and delivering solutions for business users.
  • Script Development for System Maintenance: Write and manage custom scripts to automate tasks such as system monitoring, data validation, and backups, supporting efficient system maintenance and reliability.
  • Geodatabase Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of geodatabases, including data storage, integrity, and backup processes, ensuring optimal performance and availability for GIS applications.
  • Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Implement and maintain system monitoring tools to track server performance and identify potential issues, ensuring smooth and responsive GIS operations.
  • System Integration and Security: Work closely with IT and security teams to ensure proper integration with enterprise systems and maintain security standards, including access controls and data protection.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience administering ArcGIS Enterprise, including ArcGIS Server, Portal, field apps and Datastores.
  • Proficiency in Python for ArcGIS to write custom scripts for automating tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro for GIS data management, map creation, and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Web AppBuilder, Experience Builder, and ArcObjects for system diagnostics and support.
  • Familiarity with GIS data management, including geodatabase administration, backup, and performance optimization.
  • Experience in change management and production deployment within GIS environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Esri certifications in ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Desktop.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL for GIS data management.
