Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

To lead and supervise marine civil construction activities including breakwater construction, quay wall works, dredging operations, and land reclamation projects. Ensure execution as per approved drawings, technical specifications, project schedule, quality standards, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Execution & Supervision

  • Supervise construction activities related to breakwaters (rock armoring, core placement, filter layers).

  • Oversee quay wall construction (sheet piling, diaphragm walls, caissons, anchoring systems).

  • Monitor dredging operations (capital & maintenance dredging, disposal management).

  • Manage land reclamation activities including filling, compaction, and ground improvement works.

  • Ensure works are executed in compliance with approved method statements and project specifications.

2. Planning & Coordination

  • Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, marine teams, and surveyors.

  • Prepare daily progress reports and monitor productivity.

  • Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.

  • Plan manpower, equipment, and material requirements.

3. Quality Control

  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and ITPs.

  • Monitor marine concrete works, rock gradation, geotextile placement, and compaction testing.

  • Coordinate inspections with consultants and authorities.

4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Enforce marine safety standards and environmental regulations.

  • Ensure compliance with local maritime and environmental authority requirements.

  • Conduct toolbox talks and risk assessments for marine activities.

5. Commercial & Documentation

  • Verify subcontractor measurements and progress claims.

  • Maintain site documentation and as-built records.

  • Assist in variation and claim preparation.


Desired Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in marine infrastructure projects.

  • Proven experience in at least one of the following:

    • Breakwater construction

    • Quay wall construction

    • Dredging operations

    • Land reclamation works

  • Experience in GCC/UAE marine projects preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of marine construction equipment (barges, dredgers, vibro hammers, cranes).

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office.
