Duties & Responsibilities:

Define precise engineering requirements for telecom systems.

Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including business cases for telecommunication requisitions, and perform thorough technical assessments.

Prepare all necessary tender documents for telecom projects, such as the request for proposal, scope of work, technical specifications, and evaluation criteria.

Review and optimize systems to ensure cost-effectiveness, simplicity, and compliance with required standards.

Conduct any required Tests such as FAT & SAT to guarantee top-notch performance of telecom system.

Oversee the execution of the telecommunications projects.

configuration of new telecom devices such as switches, modems, routers, and FO multiplexers as required.

Provide the contractor with the necessary IP address for new projects.

Offer unwavering technical support to the Project team and SCADA.

Show a deep understanding of SCADA equipment (field interface & telecommunication) in NEDC electrical stations.

Ensure seamless functionality of telecom equipment through ongoing monitoring and proactive maintenance.

Implement rigorous cyber security protocols, policies, and procedures.

Troubleshoot telecom components while maintaining comprehensive documentation for all work carried out.

Handle routine maintenance tasks.

Promptly respond to any communication loss events.

Convey clear insight into various performance monitoring and recording reports as requested by the section head.

Provide technical support for the SCADA team and the Control Center team.

Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in the field.

Share knowledge and deliver training to empower other members of the SCADA team.

Prepare a comprehensive telecommunication material approvals list.

Prepare informative inventory records of all telecom devices and equipment at the site.

Verify design and functional description documents for telecom systems from different vendors.

Maintain records of manufactured drawings, as-built drawings, system architecture, handover forms, and configuration backup from contractors.

Maintain IP plan and overall system layout drawings in compliance with cyber security policies and procedures.

Maintain records for communication performance.

Produce weekly and monthly reports as instructed by the Section Head

Develop standards to increase the workability and efficiency of telecom equipment at the site and guide others.

Propose and review policies, procedures, and processes for the telecom systems and monitor their implementation.

Coordinate with various OEM vendors for any technical issues with SCADA protocols (IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850).

Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
