Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Brand Narrative & Positioning

  • Support the development and refinement of Optasia s global brand narrative and storyline, rooted in our African heritage and global footprint.
  • Translate positioning into market-specific messaging for Africa, MENA, and Asia.
  • Build audience-, segment-, and competitor-specific messaging frameworks.
  • Shape narrative direction across digital channels (website, social, partner platforms), collaborating with the Communications team for execution.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights

  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of fintech, telco, AI, digital inclusion, and financial access trends.
  • Develop insight reports, landscape assessments, and opportunity briefs for leadership.

Thought Leadership & Content Strategy

  • Create high-quality content, including thought leadership pieces, executive messaging, market briefs, conference narratives, speeches, articles, and whitepapers.
  • Work with agencies to produce content that elevates Optasia s leadership voice globally.
  • Partner with internal SMEs to translate product capabilities into clear, compelling market-facing stories.
  • Monitor brand performance and ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with ESG leads to shape narrative pillars for ESG, responsible innovation, and financial inclusion.

Executive Visibility & External Engagement

  • Craft executive talking points, speaker briefs, POVs, and event messaging for media and conferences.
  • Support CEO and ExCo visibility and positioning strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Commercial, Product, Strategy, People, and Internal Communications teams.
  • Ensure consistent narrative alignment across channels, partners, and markets.
  • Support co-marketing initiatives and positioning with key partners.

Desired Candidate Profile

4-6 years experience in strategy, market intelligence, product marketing, management consulting, or a similar strategic role.

  • Strong understanding of fintech, telco, AI, digital financial services, or emerging markets.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and the skill to convert complex insights into simple, compelling narratives.
  • Proven experience developing messaging frameworks, market analyses, and thought leadership content.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills with the ability to adopt a senior-level tone.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence without authority.
  • High levels of ownership, structure, and discipline in output.
  • Comfort working at pace within a global, multicultural organization.
