Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Department Definition:

The Facilities, Maintenance, and Warehousing Section ensures that government schools across Abu Dhabi operate in safe, efficient, and well-maintained environments. The section oversees building condition assessments, preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and the supervision of construction and infrastructure projects. It manages service and maintenance contracts, monitors contractor performance, and ensures compliance with technical and safety standards. In addition, the section is responsible for warehouse operations, inventory control, and fixed asset management in line with approved policies and governance frameworks, supporting operational continuity and high-quality learning environments.

Main Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee warehouse operations in line with approved procedures, ensuring proper storage conditions and material safety.
  • Organize and categorize inventory including equipment, devices, and consumables using approved coding and tracking systems.
  • Manage receiving, inspection, and issuance processes, ensuring materials align with specifications and purchase orders.
  • Conduct regular and spot inventory counts, reconcile physical stock with system records, and report discrepancies.
  • Implement approved corrective actions and system adjustments following required authorizations.
  • Monitor obsolete, slow-moving, or damaged items and recommend disposal or sale in accordance with established policies.
  • Coordinate and administer auction processes and the sale of stored items in compliance with Ministry regulations and policies.
  • Establish and maintain an accurate fixed asset register for schools and the sector, aligned with best practices and Ministry of Finance standards.
  • Oversee the full asset lifecycle from acquisition and transfer to handover and disposal ensuring complete and accurate documentation.
  • Prepare periodic reports on inventory and asset status, highlighting key performance indicators and risk areas.
  • Liaise with schools and relevant departments to ensure timely fulfilment of operational needs.
  • Ensure adherence to governance frameworks and internal control procedures across all assets and warehouse activities.

  • Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in inventory management, asset management, or supply chain operations are considered an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse and asset management, preferably within a government entity or a large multi-site organization.
  • Proven experience in inventory control systems, stock reconciliation, and fixed asset register management.
  • Familiarity with procurement, disposal procedures, and compliance-related processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to details in managing records and documentation.
  • Solid understanding of financial controls, audit requirements, and governance frameworks.
  • Analytical capability to investigate discrepancies, minimize losses, and optimize stock levels.
  • Effective coordination and communication skills across multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in inventory/asset management platforms, along with strong reporting skills.

Desired Candidate Profile
