Roles & Responsibilities
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key supporting role in the commercial management of our development projects. You will assist the Chartered Quantity Surveyor in the preparation and management of cost plans, procurement documentation, and progress reporting, ensuring the financial integrity of our projects from inception to completion.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Chartered QS in preparing initial cost estimates and feasibility studies.
- Assist in producing bills of quantities, schedules, and tender documentation.
- Help monitor project budgets and maintain up-to-date cost records.
- Track and record site progress and assist in valuing works completed.
- Collect and verify subcontractor quotes and assist with procurement analysis.
- Support in preparing payment recommendations and cost reports.
- Help manage variations, change control, and value engineering exercises.
- Attend project meetings and prepare minutes or action lists as required.
- Maintain organized records and commercial documentation.
- Coordinate with the project team to ensure compliance with cost and contract controls.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role or strong internship experience in real estate or construction.
- Good understanding of basic QS functions and construction terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under direction and follow through on tasks independently.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
