Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Plan and deliver HR audits endtoend: scope, risk/control matrix, walkthroughs, sample design, testing, issue drafting, and closeout

Review recruitment and onboarding: requisition approvals, offers, background checks, visas/immigration and PRO workflows, document collection, and HRIS data accuracy

Test payroll and benefits controls: masterdata changes, segregation of duties, attendance/overtime inputs, commission/bonus calculations, statutory deductions, reconciliations, and approval workflows

Assess time and attendance: scheduling, leave management, exceptions, and system integrations with payroll

Evaluate performance management and rewards: goal setting, calibration, promotions, salary changes, and incentive governance

Audit employee relations processes: grievances, investigations, disciplinary actions, terminations, and settlement calculations; check evidence, approvals, and timeliness

Review learning and compliance training: mandatory completions, tracking, and effectiveness metrics

Assess HRIS and data privacy controls: rolebased access, joinermoverleaver, evidence of periodic access reviews, data retention, and document security

Examine thirdparty/outsourced HR services (payroll, onboarding, medical insurance brokers): due diligence, SLAs, and monitoring

Validate compliance with internal policies and applicable local employment requirements; highlight gaps and pragmatic remediation

Use analytics (Excel/Sheets/BI and optionally SQL) for fullpopulation tests: duplicate payments, ghost employees, offcycle pay, overtime anomalies, and attrition patterns

Track remediation actions to closure; report status, trends, and KPIs to management and the Audit/Risk Committees

Maintain highquality electronic workpapers and follow Internal Audit Methodology and IPPF standards; contribute to the annual audit plan

Provide control advisory during HR/process change initiatives without impairing independence

Desired Candidate Profile

5 to 6 years in internal audit or HR controls/operations with demonstrable HR audit exposure; experience in insurance, fintech, or highgrowth services is a plus

Solid understanding of endtoend HR processes (hiretoretire), payroll and benefits, HRIS administration, and data/privacy risks

Strong analytical skills; advanced Excel/Google Sheets and a BI tool (Power BI/Tableau/Looker); SQL is a plus

Clear, concise reporting and stakeholder engagement; able to translate control gaps into prioritized, practical actions

Qualifications: CA / CIA or in progress preferred; HR credentials (e.g., SHRMCP/SHRMSCP, PHRi, CIPD) are advantageous

Familiarity with HRIS/payroll platforms and common ticketing/workpaper tools (e.g., Workday/Oracle/SAP/Zoho/Seera; AuditBoard/TeamMate; Jira/ServiceNow)

High integrity and confidentiality; comfortable handling sensitive employee data and matters
