Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Craft and innovate a diverse range of baked goods, including artisanal breads, pastries, and confections, ensuring each item meets the highest standards of quality and creativity.
- Develop and test new recipes, adjusting ingredients and techniques to achieve desired flavors and textures while maintaining consistency in production.
- Manage inventory of baking supplies, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing waste through effective stock management and ordering processes.
- Oversee the daily operations of the bakery, including staff supervision, training, and scheduling to maintain an efficient and motivated team.
- Implement and uphold strict hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen to comply with health regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to create visually appealing displays that enhance customer experience and drive sales.
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure optimal results, adjusting equipment settings as necessary for various recipes.
- Engage with customers to receive feedback and provide recommendations, fostering a connection that promotes repeat business.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and in good working order.
- Stay current with industry trends and techniques, continuously seeking professional development opportunities to refine skills and inspire creativity.
Desired Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen, showcasing a solid understanding of baking techniques.
- Fluency in both the local language and English to facilitate effective communication within the team and with customers.
- Personal qualities including creativity, passion for baking, and a strong work ethic that drives continuous improvement.
- Strong soft skills such as teamwork, time management, and problem-solving abilities to foster a collaborative kitchen atmosphere.
