Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

A Bakery Chef will also be required to ensure that all operational, quality, and administrative functions are carried out properly. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes and other baked goods according to hotel recipes and standards

  • Ensure consistency in taste, texture, appearance, and portion control

  • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal offerings

  • Monitor proofing, baking times, temperatures, and product quality

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery and equipment in compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations

  • Control food costs by minimizing waste and properly managing ingredients

  • Coordinate with kitchen and banquet teams to meet daily production and event requirements

  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and stock rotation

  • Train and supervise junior bakery staff or commis as assigned

  • Follow all hotel policies, hygiene standards, and workplace safety procedures

  • Proven experience as a Bakery Chef in a hotel, resort, or high-volume kitchen

  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment

  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required

  • Good time management and ability to work under pressure

  • Attention to detail and passion for quality presentation

  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
