Roles & Responsibilities

Position Summary:
The Business Development Manager – Shipping & Logistics is responsible for driving company growth by identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and expanding the company’s market presence. This role involves conducting market research, developing and implementing business strategies, pursuing sales leads, and ensuring seamless service delivery. The role also includes establishing strategic partnerships, attending industry events, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations – all contributing to overall profitability and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify new business opportunities and build strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive revenue growth.
  • Develop business in Sea Freight, Air Freight, Import/Export, Land Transportation, and Automotive Logistics sectors.
  • Design and execute strategic business development plans to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Negotiate and close partnership agreements that contribute to revenue and market expansion.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, and Documentation teams to align business efforts with overall company goals.
  • Secure repeat business and onboard new potential clients to expand the company portfolio.
  • Consistently achieve sales targets set by management.
  • Identify and qualify leads, convert them into opportunities, and ensure successful onboarding.
  • Support customer service teams in executing contracts effectively and efficiently.
  • Offer customized logistics and supply chain solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Build long-term client relationships and proactively identify evolving customer requirements.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports on sales performance, market conditions, and competitor activity.

  • Proven experience in business development or industrial sales within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement successful business development strategies.
