Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Commercial Director is responsible for leading the overall commercial function of the pharmaceutical manufacturing business, integrating sales, marketing, and business development to drive sustainable revenue growth and market expansion. This role ensures alignment between market demand, product strategy, and manufacturing capabilities while maintaining compliance with pharmaceutical regulations.


Commercial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute the overall commercial strategy, including sales, marketing, and business development

  • Define long-term growth plans, market entry strategies, and portfolio expansion

  • Monitor global and regional pharmaceutical market trends to identify opportunities

Sales Leadership

  • Lead and oversee all sales operations across key markets

  • Establish sales targets, KPIs, and performance management systems

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with distributors, hospitals, government bodies, and key accounts

  • Drive tender business and institutional sales strategies

Marketing & Product Strategy

  • Lead product positioning, branding, and go-to-market strategies

  • Oversee product launches, lifecycle management, and promotional campaigns

  • Ensure all marketing activities comply with pharmaceutical regulations and ethical standards

  • Collaborate with medical and regulatory teams for accurate scientific communication

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities (contract manufacturing, licensing, alliances)

  • Expand into new geographic markets and therapeutic segments

  • Negotiate and manage strategic partnerships and distribution agreements

Financial & Commercial Performance

  • Own revenue targets, profitability, and commercial budgets

  • Develop pricing strategies aligned with market access and reimbursement environments

  • Forecast sales and align demand planning with production capacity

Cross-functional Alignment

  • Work closely with R&D, regulatory affairs, supply chain, and manufacturing teams

  • Ensure alignment between product development, regulatory approvals, and commercialization

  • Support portfolio planning based on market demand and competitive analysis

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all commercial activities comply with local and international pharmaceutical regulations

  • Maintain high ethical standards in sales and marketing practices

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or Business (MBA preferred)

  • 12–18+ years of experience in pharmaceutical commercial roles

  • Proven track record in sales, marketing, and business development leadership

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and regulatory environments

  • Experience in international/GCC markets is a plus
