Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Execute prep lists efficiently, ensuring all mise en place is ready for service, minimizing wait times and maximizing kitchen workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to strict hygiene standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety.
- Assist senior chefs in the preparation of sauces, stocks, and other fundamental components, developing a strong culinary foundation.
- Monitor food inventory and report shortages to the chef de partie, preventing disruptions in service and minimizing waste.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment properly, including ovens, grills, and fryers, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Learn and understand all menu items, including ingredients, cooking methods, and allergens, to provide accurate information to the team.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Take initiative to learn new techniques and expand culinary knowledge, demonstrating a commitment to professional growth.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment, showcasing practical skills and adaptability.
- Possesses a culinary diploma or equivalent, demonstrating a foundational understanding of cooking principles.
- Exhibits a solid understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, ensuring adherence to health regulations.
- Demonstrates strong knife skills and proficiency in basic cooking techniques, highlighting a fundamental culinary skillset.
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure during peak service times, reflecting a resilient and focused approach.
