Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Experience in importing and exporting food items is a must.
  • Background in complete forwarding operation will be an added advantage.
  • Calculate duties, taxes, and fees, and facilitate payments to relevant authorities with precision.
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth cargo movement.
  • Classify goods according to the Harmonized System (HS) codes, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of product categorization.
  • Manage customs clearance processes, including examinations and inspections, to expedite cargo clearance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations, trade agreements, and industry best practices.
  • Resolve customs-related issues, discrepancies, and inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, minimizing risks.
  • Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, customs officials, and internal teams to provide updates and resolve issues.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like International Trade, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Holds a Customs Brokerage License or relevant certification, demonstrating professional expertise.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in import/export regulations, ensuring adherence to legal standards.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customs clearance, showcasing practical industry knowledge.
