Position Overview
First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is seeking a Head of Observability and Incident Management to establish and lead a modern observability function across all IT environments. The role is responsible for ensuring proactive detection, diagnosis, and resolution of service health issues, driving major incident management, and embedding resilience practices to enhance system availability and customer experience.

What You ll Do

* Define and implement observability architecture for scalable, secure, and cost-optimized monitoring
* Lead major incident management processes, ensuring rapid containment and clear communication
* Establish dashboards, telemetry pipelines, and visibility into applications, infrastructure, and services
* Correlate alerts and events to reduce noise and prioritize incidents based on business impact
* Conduct post-incident reviews, RCAs, and resilience engineering to reduce operational risk
* Align monitoring practices with compliance, regulatory, and ITIL standards
* Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure logging and instrumentation coverage
* Manage vendor relationships and integrate SaaS/cloud monitoring platforms with FAB s workflows
* Provide training, coaching, and leadership to monitoring and incident management teams
* Drive adoption of SRE principles, SLIs, and SLOs for critical services
* Promote a blameless culture of improvement and continuous learning

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
* 15+ years of technology experience, with strong focus on observability, incident management, and SRE practices
* Expertise with monitoring and APM platforms (Datadog, AppDynamics, Grafana, ELK, Elastic, synthetic monitoring, log aggregation)
* Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
* Proven track record of running 24/7 incident command processes and leading high-pressure war rooms
* Deep knowledge of ITIL event and incident management using ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow
* Excellent cross-functional coordination, executive communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Calm, decisive leadership style with ability to deliver in high-pressure environments
