Kitchen Helper

PROCAT CATERING

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools using manual or dishwashing equipment.
• Ensure proper storage of food items, ingredients, and kitchen supplies.
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries of food and kitchen supplies.
• Dispose of waste and maintain clean waste disposal areas.
• Support kitchen staff during busy service periods.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Help with arranging ingredients and preparing kitchen stations before food preparation.
• Perform other kitchen support duties as assigned by chefs or supervisors.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Good verbal & Written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, management and immediate surrounding colleagues.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the company standards.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
