Roles & Responsibilities

Date/Timings - 30th August 2025 Saturday 9:00am - 2:30pm

Maintenance Technician

Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems, electrical circuits, plumbing fixtures, and other equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure the durability and reliability of systems and equipment.

Installation:

  • Install new equipment and systems, including HVAC units, electrical wiring, plumbing fixtures, and other mechanical components.
  • Follow blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure proper installation and configuration.
  • Test installed systems to verify proper operation and functionality.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, service logs, and inspection reports.
  • Update equipment and system documentation to reflect changes and repairs.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor promptly.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Experience & Qualifications: A high school diploma or vocational training is the minimum requirement. Proven experience of 2-5 years in a similar role within a commercial building, hotel, or industrial setting is highly desirable. Certifications in HVAC, electrical systems, or plumbing are a strong advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills are essential. The candidate must be proficient with a variety of hand and power tools. They should also be able to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive mindset to identify and fix issues before they become major problems. The ability to find the root cause of an issue and implement an effective, lasting solution is key.
  • Physical Aptitude: Must have the physical stamina and strength to perform the duties of the job, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments. They should be able to clearly report on work completed and any issues found.
  • Experience & Attitude: No extensive experience is required, but a basic understanding of maintenance tasks and a positive, can-do attitude are crucial. Previous experience in a labor-intensive role is beneficial.
  • Skills: Must be able to follow instructions accurately and efficiently. Basic knowledge of hand tools is required. The candidate should be able to perform simple tasks independently, such as moving equipment or cleaning work areas.
  • Work Ethic: A strong work ethic is paramount. They must be punctual, reliable, and committed to assisting the technician in all tasks.
  • Safety Awareness: A firm commitment to following all safety protocols and wearing appropriate protective gear is non-negotiable.
  • Physical Aptitude: Must be in good physical condition and capable of performing manual labor, including lifting and carrying materials and standing for long periods.
