Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Maths departments aims to teach Maths to students who need a solid foundation to develop their skills. The incumbent is responsible to assess students performance with the aim of helping students develop the linguistic ability to function effectively in an international environment.

The main responsibilities for this role include:

  • Model and support a learner-centered, hands-on classroom environment that promotes learner engagement and participation.
  • Ensure that students reach the expected age-related outcomes for Mathematics.
  • Gain an understanding of working with Arab youth who will study Mathematics in English.
  • Create a positive, active, language-rich learning environment.
  • Support the learning process by identifying needs and guiding students to achieve their learning objectives.
  • Ensure assessments are delivered according to the assessment strategy and guidelines, in a valid and rigorous manner.
  • Maintain an accurate record of student achievement and performance.
  • Create positive and effective relationships with colleagues.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements for Expatriates:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant (Science in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Education in Mathematics) or related field; Masters desirable
  • Minimum 3-year degree
  • Experience (no certification): 3+ years of full-time teaching experience in schools for expats
  • Experience (with certification): 2+ years full- time teaching experience in schools if the candidate possesses one of the following:
  • Accepted Certification: Ministry of Education teaching License, B.Ed; M.Ed; NTS;PGCE (QTS not required); PGDE; H.D.E; H.E.D; DELTA (Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training); CELTA (Masters level only); TESOL (Masters level only)
  • Age Limit: Up to 55 years old
  • English proficiency requirement: Excellent level of English proficiency (TOEFL iBT Language proficiency test required or an equivalent to it), which candidates should provide within six months of joining the MOE. (TOEFL score of 79-93 required)
  • The candidate is required to obtain a Teacher s License within the first two years from the date of joining.

Requirements for Emirati Nationals:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant (Science in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Education in Mathematics) or related field; Masters desirable
  • Minimum 3-year degree
  • Experience: No previous teaching experience required.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 for Emirati candidates
  • Age Limit: Up to 55 years old
  • English proficiency requirement: Excellent level of English proficiency (TOEFL iBT certificate or equivalent to it) should be provided within six months from joining MOE.
  • The candidate is required to obtain a Teacher s License within the first two years from the date of joining
