Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Food & Beverage Manager to play a key role in the start-up and launch of a new F&B business. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives in building operations from the ground up and shaping a brand, team, and customer experience from day one. The successful candidate will work closely with ownership/founders to develop the concept, establish operational systems, recruit and lead teams, and ensure the business opens and operates to the highest standards of quality, service, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities Pre-Opening & Start-Up Collaborate with founders to develop and refine the F&B concept, menu strategy, and service style Support site set-up, supplier sourcing, equipment selection, and operational planning Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for front and back of house Assist with licensing, compliance, and health & safety requirements Plan and manage pre-opening timelines, budgets, and launch activities Operations Management Oversee day-to-day F&B operations, ensuring smooth service and consistent quality Implement and monitor food safety, hygiene, and operational standards Manage inventory, purchasing, cost control, and supplier relationships Analyse sales performance, margins, and KPIs to drive profitability People & Leadership Recruit, train, and develop front-of-house and back-of-house teams Build a strong team culture aligned with the brand vision and values Lead by example on the floor, providing hands-on operational support when required Create staff schedules and manage labour costs effectively Guest Experience & Brand Deliver an exceptional and consistent guest experience Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally Ensure service standards reflect the brand positioning and target market Growth & Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability Support future growth initiatives, including menu evolution, new sites, or service channels

Desired Candidate Profile

Skills & Experience

Proven experience as an F&B Manager, General Manager, or Operations Manager in the food & beverage industry Previous start-up, pre-opening, or turnaround experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of F&B operations, cost control, and compliance Excellent leadership, communication, and people-management skills Commercially minded with a hands-on, problem-solving approach Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced, evolving start-up environment What We Offer Opportunity to play a key leadership role in launching a new F&B business High level of autonomy and influence over the business direction Competitive salary (and potential performance-based incentives, depending on structure) Long-term growth and development opportunities as the business expands
