Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Spend visibility & analysis: Build a clear picture of current and ongoing supplier spend to identify priority categories and track progress.
- Sourcing & negotiations: Lead sourcing activity in high-value and high-impact categories as we agree.
- Supplier management: Introduce preferred supplier arrangements, consolidate fragmented spend, and establish supplier performance management.
- Policy & governance: Develop and implement simple procurement policies and processes (e.g. spend thresholds, competitive tendering requirements) whilst remaining agile and without unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Contract management: Support the business, working with our Legal Team, in reviewing and negotiating supplier contracts, ensuring best value and risk mitigation.
- Stakeholder engagement: Build relationships with budget holders and provide commercial challenge while enabling the business to succeed.
- Reporting & savings delivery: Track and report savings, compliance, and procurement initiatives to the CFO.
Skills and Experience
Basic requirements
- Proven procurement experience (7 + years) with broad exposure to indirect categories.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated success in delivering savings and introducing pragmatic procurement discipline in organisations with low prior maturity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and EQ, with the confidence to engage stakeholders and colleagues at all levels across disciplines.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a greenfield environment
- Demonstrated success in delivering savings and introducing pragmatic procurement discipline in organisations with low prior maturity.
- Ability and willingness to operate as both a strategist and a hands-on practitioner.
Preferred requirements
- Experience of working in a professional services environment.
- Experience operating globally with stakeholders located across multiple geographies
- Experienced in leading procurement transformation initiatives, transitioning from manual operations to automated systems/workflows
- Track record of building and developing teams
